The First Continental Congress

The Continental Congress was held in Philadelphia at the Carpenter's Hall. Delegates from every colony except Georgia attended. It had been the idea of Benjamin Franklin in the past, but after the closing of the Boston Harbor due to the Boston Tea Party it became a true meeting. Some of the important figures that attended the congress were:

  • George Washington
  • John Adams
  • Patrick Henry
  • Samuel Adams
  • John Jay
  • John Dickson
